Privacy Policy

Promzi connects Ethiopian businesses with local creators who make short marketing videos. It is run by Addis Lab, and we are the data controller for what follows.
We keep this short on purpose. Every clause here is doing real work. If one is only present because every policy has one, we left it out.
What we collect
- Your account. The name, email and profile picture from your Google account. We never see or store a password.
- Your profile. Phone number, city and age group and, for creators, up to two categories.
- Your social accounts. The platform, the username, and up to three video links per platform you claim.
- Public social data. The display name, follower count, bio and profile picture that TikTok or Instagram already publishes. We keep a copy so your card does not go blank when the platform does.
What a business can see
A verified creator profile shows businesses the name your platform publishes, your city, age group, categories, and the usernames, follower counts and sample videos of each account you verified.
Businesses do not see your phone number, your email, your age as a number rather than a band, or your DM verification code. They contact you through Promzi rather than by phone. An unverified profile is not shown at all, and you can leave the directory whenever you want.
Who else sees it
We do not sell your data, rent it, trade it, or use it for advertising. Four kinds of company receive it, each for one job:
- Supabase, which runs sign-in, the database and file storage. They hold your data on our instruction only.
- Google, which signs you in. Google handles your account under its own terms as well.
- Apify, which reads the public profile data above on our instruction.
- Our hosting provider, which serves the site.
Nobody else. Not advertisers, not data brokers.
Cookies
No advertising cookies and no third-party trackers. We store what keeps you signed in and any half-finished social draft you have not saved. The draft stays on your device until you save it or clear your browser data.
How long we keep it
We keep your account while it is open. If you close it, we delete your profile and social rows within 30 days, except records we must retain for tax or dispute purposes, which we keep as long as Ethiopian law requires. Deleting your account does not remove videos you have published on TikTok or Instagram; those stay under your control there.
Your rights
You can ask us, free of charge, to:
- tell you what we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct anything that is wrong, which you can mostly do yourself;
- delete your account and your data;
- stop us using your data where our use rests on consent rather than on running the service;
- withdraw that consent, without losing anything you have already done.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, and row-level rules mean a signed-in creator can read their own row and not someone else's. The key that bypasses those rules exists only on the server. No system is perfect, but if a breach affects your data we will tell you and report it to the Ethiopian Communications Authority within the 72 hours the law requires.
Children
Promzi is for adults. You must be 18 to hold an account, because holding one means entering a contract and, for creators, being paid. If you think a child has given us data, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change what we collect, we will update the date above and tell you in the app first. We will not quietly widen what we hold.
Contact
Write to us first, and we will answer in writing. You can also complain to the Ethiopian Communications Authority, which is the authority responsible under Proclamation No. 1321/2024. We would rather you gave us the chance to fix it, but that choice is yours.
